ALC Garage Sale on June 13, 2009

ALC is planning a BIG garage sale fundraiser for Saturday, June 13, 2009 from 8:00 - noon at the Amegy Bank in Bellaire.

We will begin accepting donations next month. Please look around your house and garage for items to donate; items should be clean and in good or new condition.

Donation drop off locations and times will be announced soon. Also, look for a list of volunteer opportunities related to the garage sale that we will be publishing soon.

Movie premiere

Members of Amigas Latinas were fortunate to be invited to the recent premiere of the Hannah Montana movie in Houston. A small group of members, friends and family attended the premiere and from all appearances, had a terrific time.

Univision Radio Interview

On Tuesday, March 31, 2009, ALC member Mariel Sanchez did a wonderful interview about Amigas Latinas on Univision's La Tremenda, 1010 AM. The interview will be broadcast on Sunday, April 5 from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. during the "La Voz Del Pueblo" program.

In the interview, Mariel let the community know more about our organization. Also, Renzo Heredia, who conducted the interview, is willing to help us with our fundraising. We are glad to have this opportunity to talk about the great work that Amigas Latinas is doing.
